Founder

I began my career as a maintenance mechanic at Colonial Metals Co. in 1997. I changed paths in 2000 and entered the electrical department, also at Colonial Metals Co., as an apprentice industrial electrician.
I completed my apprenticeship and received my PA State Certification as a Journeyman Industrial Electrician in 2004.
In addition to mechanical and electrical courses taken during this time, I also had extensive courses in electronics, PLCs, and HMI development at various tech. schools, online classes, and certified vendors.
I received a Mechanical Engineering Technology Certificate from Penn State in 2006 and became Colonial Metals Company's Plant Engineer in training.
Shortly thereafter in 2007, I moved on to Herr Industrial as an Electrical Designer. My other responsibilities there included PLC and HMI programming, customer service for controls issues, and some mechanical design projects using SolidWorks.
During this time I tested for and received Master Electrician licenses from the states of MD, VA, WV, VT as well as Allentown PA, Baltimore MD, and an Electrical Contractor license from NJ.
I am so thankful for those who have helped me along the way and I am proud to bring my over 20 years of experience to Shertzer Electric, LLC and all our current and future customers.
